Strathbogie Shire Council is calling on community members to have their say on Euroa’s Bicentennial Park.

The park upgrade includes a new bike track where children can learn to ride their bikes safely and an upgrade to the play structure, for which council is seeking the community’s preference.

Administrator Peter Stephenson said council was responsible for providing quality infrastructure to enhance the environment locals lived, worked and played in.

“We know that play is essential for the development of children and adults. Through play, children learn the essential skills they will need in adulthood,” he said.

“Spaces that are well-designed to encourage play provide varied opportunities for young people to develop emotionally, cognitively and physically whilst socialising, exploring, taking risks and having fun.

“We are calling on the community to help us select what kind of play structure they would like to see in the park so it is a place children can enjoy for many years to come.”

There are two structures for the public to choose from.
