The survey aims to understand usage patterns, preferred locations, visitation frequency and any potential barriers preventing community members from accessing these facilities.
The centres (formerly known as transfer stations and tips) are located in Ardmona, Murchison and Shepparton.
They enable residents to dispose of household waste and recyclables that are not suitable for household bins.
Council manager resource recovery Liam Moller explained the importance of resource recovery in waste management.
“Resource recovery is an important action in creating a circular economy where the value of products, materials and resources is maintained in the economy for as long as possible, and the generation of waste is minimised,” he said.
“Resource recovery means sharing, leasing, reusing, repairing, refurbishing and recycling existing materials and products for as long as possible.
“It involves the three stages of waste collection, sorting and segregation, and processing.”
