The funding will deliver vital work, health and safety improvements, including non-slip flooring, as well as upgrades to modernise the dated foyer for appearance and comfort.
These changes will ensure the facility is not only more functional and safer for residents, staff, and visitors, but also more inviting and welcoming for families and the community.
Club Tocumwal president Bernie Clements said the project reflects the club’s “passion for supporting and investing in our community”.
“We are proud to support Tocumwal Lions Community Hostel through the ClubGRANTS program.
“Our board of directors are passionate about giving back to the community, and this project will make a lasting difference for older residents and those who visit and care for them.”
Mr Clements and treasurer Jennie Hehir were given a tour of the facility by hostel manager Tracey Morrison, and learned more about the recent improvements underway at the facility.

Tocumwal Public School students have been busy installing guards around the new trees around the school grounds this week with the trees starting to look like a rabbit buffet.
With thanks to David Walsh Gas for donating the guards, Cobram Farm Equipment for supplying the zip ties, and the little helpers in Ms Neal’s class who rolled up their sleeves and helped get the job done, the growing trees will now be protected from the hungry rabbits in the night.

The highly anticipated Tocumwal Airshow is this weekend, with organisers promising another action-packed day of aerial displays, family entertainment, and aviation history at its finest.
This year’s event will be held this Sunday, with online tickets still available.
Those wanting to attend are encouraged to secure their tickets before the day. Go to www.eventbrite.com.au and search for the Tocumwal Airshow.
But be careful of scams that have been doing the rounds.
The 2025 Airshow holds special significance, marking 80 years since the end of World War II.
This year’s program will honour the memory of those who served and sacrificed, while also highlighting the critical role RAAF Station Tocumwal played in the defence of Australia during the war.
The Tocumwal Airshow is proudly presented by the Tocumwal Aviation Museum, in association with Paul Bennet Airshow.
