The Goulburn Valley Relief Rally will be held on Saturday, March 28, raising funds for communities impacted by recent bushfires across the region.
Organised by CMV Truck and Bus, Greater Shepparton City Council and the Museum of Vehicle Evolution, the rally promises a showcase of motoring marvels paired with scenic drives and local spirit.
MOVE representative Marcus Cook said the event was about more than fundraising, with organisers keen to highlight the resilience of the region.
“We traditionally run the Melbourne to MOVE rally, but this year the organising committee decided to do something different,” he said.
“(We wanted) to both raise funds that will go directly back to the communities and promote the fact that this area of the country is open for business.”
The special-edition rally will start at the FOOTT depot in Shepparton before journeying through Dookie, Nalinga, Violet Town, Longwood and Euroa.
Stops are scheduled for morning tea and an exclusive lunch at Fowles Wines, complete with live music.
The convoy will then finish at MOVE, offering locals who aren’t taking part the opportunity to view the vehicles up close.
Can’t make it to MOVE?
No worries, Mr Cook said each town along the way would have the chance to be part of the experience, with arrival times to be shared on social media.
“It’s going to be a great day out — up to 100 cars and 200-plus people enjoying the Goulburn Valley,” he said.
With places strictly limited, organisers encourage early registration to secure a spot on the road.
The Goulburn Valley Relief Rally is on Saturday, March 28, from 9am to 3.30pm, starting at the FOOTT depot in Shepparton and finishing at MOVE.
