Scheduled for January 18 to January 23 at Tatura SmartFarm in Victoria, Irrigation 2026 brings together leading international expertise to tackle water challenges in horticulture and agriculture.
Under the overarching theme ‘Acting on Water for Climate Change, Environment and Energy’, the six-day program will feature plenary sessions, keynote speakers, technical workshops, poster and oral presentations, and field tours designed to foster global collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Hosted by the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), Agriculture Victoria Research, the Instituto de Agricultura Sostenible (IAS-CSIC, Spain) and the University of Melbourne, the symposium will showcase cutting-edge research and practical innovations in irrigation science that address urgent issues such as climate adaptation, environmental impact and energy efficiency.
Participants can look forward to a diverse program tailored to both research advancement and practical application.
Highlights include technical tours of advanced horticultural systems, hands-on field days demonstrating digital agriculture and precision irrigation technologies, and networking opportunities that connect delegates from around the world.
An optional pre-symposium tour aims to provide insights into Victoria’s key horticultural regions, irrigation practices, regional production systems and local cultural attractions, providing a rich context for the conference’s scientific content.
The event welcomes researchers, policymakers, irrigation professionals and horticultural producers seeking to expand their expertise, share research findings and explore collaborative opportunities.
