To raise funds for their Christmas appeal, FamilyCare has partnered with Shepparton Marketplace to host a gift wrapping station at the shopping centre.
The service gives shoppers the opportunity to have their gifts wrapped for a gold coin donation.
The organisation has gotten many repeat volunteers come back, which FamilyCare volunteer fundraising co-ordinator Andrea Twohey said was fantastic.
“It's great they've enjoyed it that much that they want to return,” she said.
“They feel great that they've contributed to FamilyCare and gotten into that Christmas spirit.”
Ms Twohey said the presents will be wrapped with good quality paper, and the volunteers are capable of wrapping any present, no matter what shape or size.
Being in a prime location at the Marketplace, volunteers get to hear many stories from people getting their presents wrapped.
“There’s those moments that you can’t measure,” Ms Twohey said.
“(There might tell volunteers) a story being told about how FamilyCare might have helped them or a family member.
“Those stories spread like wildfire.”
FamilyCare works with families involved with child and family services, and also provides carer and disability support.
The organisation’s gift-wrapping stand at Shepparton Marketplace opened on Monday, December 15, and will be open up until Christmas Eve.
Community members can have their gifts wrapped by volunteers for a gold coin donation per present, with the donations going back to FamilyCare.
The organisation is looking for volunteers to take on two-hour shifts.
Shifts are available from 9am to 5pm, seven days a week.
