A conscientious lady who travels from Berrigan on a regular basis to enjoy a walk around the Finley Lake and avail herself of the Imagination Play creative playground equipment on the Murray St side of the park would like to express her thanks to the Finley MenShed.
This lady found the instruction/information plate on the elliptical item had been pulled off and left on the ground which she took across the road to the MenShed and asked if they would reattach it when convenient.
After attending to some matters in Finley, she was amazed to find, on her way home, that the job had already been attended to.
Further enquiries led to the information that the work had been carried out by Gavin Butcher.
Well done, Gavin.
Members of the community might not be aware of the great equipment in that particular area, all under cover, and free to use.
There is the elliptical, shoulder rotation, balance bar, rowing machine and a pedal machine.
The work carried out by the Lake Management Committee, with assistance from other groups, is quite extensive.

Just a reminder that Murrumbidgee Primary Health Network, in collaboration with safeTALK, will be holding a free workshop at Finley RSL Club on July 29, from 10am to about 2pm.
As many of us have been affected by the suicide of a friend or loved one, this suicide prevention training could help us to be more alert to someone thinking of suicide and be better able to connect them with help and support.
Registration for this free training can be found at mphn.org.au. Alternatively, email finleylhac@gmail.com and LHAC will send you a link.

Finley Cemetery maintenance is a project for the Finley Lions Club members who do a wonderful job making the entrance and surrounds as neat and welcoming as possible.
However, one local family was extremely upset recently to find a very disgusting word painted on their parents’ headstone.
This matter has been reported to the police.
However, a request has been made, if any suspicious behaviour is observed during a visit to the cemetery, it would be appreciated if it could be reported as soon as possible.

Members of the Finley Lions Club were once again braving the cold weather on Saturday morning to sell tickets in the wood raffle.
Colin Drury’s name was on the winning ticket drawn out of the barrel.
