Deniliquin is the last overnight stop on the Camp Quality fundraiser, which set off from Tamworth on Sunday and concludes in Griffith on Saturday.
Coming to Deniliquin from Swan Hill, entrants are expected to start arriving from about 4.30pm
Drivers and support crews will stay with local accommodation providers overnight before setting off on the final leg of the journey early Saturday morning.
At the end of the seven days, the fundraisers will have completed a 2888km backroad adventure.
Each team has been fundraising for months with a goal of raising $1.1 million to support Camp Quality’s services and programs, delivering fun and laughter to kids and families impacted by cancer.
Now in its 33rd year, esCarpade is filled with character, camaraderie and laughter.
Along the way, participants will visit rural schools to entertain the kids with their decorated vehicles and themed costumes.
The Camp Quality puppets will join the journey, performing age-appropriate Cancer Education Program shows in schools along the route to support children dealing with a cancer diagnosis - either their own or that of a sibling, parent, grandparent or friend.
Camp Quality CEO Deborah Thomas said the much-anticipated esCarpade fundraiser provides vital funds to support families in need.
“The funds raised by the esCarpade participants in the months leading up to the event is phenomenal and allows Camp Quality to support hundreds of families.
“Our motoring events are a core part of Camp Quality’s fundraising. The esCarpade participants are dedicated members of our Camp Quality community, and we are so grateful for their support.”
The added bonus is the economic boost it will bring to the Deniliquin district, with all drivers and their support teams staying in Deniliquin for one night.
As well as staying with local accommodation providers, participants will be supporting local eateries and establishments as they enjoy their final night together on the road.
