Emergency Recovery Victoria hosting community consultations in Mooroopna

Emergency Recovery Victoria wants to hear about your experiences.

Disaster-affected community members are being asked to contribute to a more resilient future for the region and the state.

Greater Shepparton City Council is inviting residents affected by the December 2023 storm and the subsequent January 2024 flood to share their experiences with Emergency Recovery Victoria.

The community drop-in session will be held at the Mooroopna Education and Activity Centre on Wednesday, May 29, from noon to 7.30pm.

This session aims to collect information about the ongoing impact of these events and the clean-up assistance required from community members.

ERV’s private property clean-up team will be present to provide details on the clean-up efforts and the eligibility criteria for support assistance.

Council flood recovery manager Carla Dixon encouraged affected residents to attend.

“This is an important session to give Emergency Recovery Victoria and council further information about the impact of these storm and flood events and what assistance was needed by residents in the days, weeks and months following,” she said.

“The information gathered will help inform an ongoing support program and will ensure it is tailored to address the needs of the community.”
