Despite the rain and dreary weather, the community turned out in strong numbers throughout the day and raised almost $2000.
Organised by local hairdresser Maree Wilcock, the event was part of the Leukaemia Foundation’s ‘World’s Greatest Shave’ campaign.
Although she hadn’t hosted a fundraiser in five years, Ms Wilcock said the event was a great success.
“It’s been really good,” she said.
“I haven’t done this in a long time ... but I’m really happy.”

With the fundraiser falling on St Patrick’s Day, hairdressers and volunteers embraced the festive spirit by dressing in green and even donning leprechaun costumes.
A table of St Patrick’s Day-themed T-shirts and trinkets was also set up, giving attendees the chance to support the cause through purchases.

Ms Gillingham said she was happy to support the fundraising efforts.
“It goes to a good cause,” she said.
“Everyone’s got family, we’ve all got family, that’s died from cancer or leukaemia.”
Including the donations she collected before the event, Ms Wilcox raised $1973.30.
