Daffodils raise hope and funds

It is a day to believe in a cancer-free future and a chance to make a difference by supporting the Cancer Council.

The daffodil is the symbol of hope for everyone affected by cancer.

Most of us know someone who is affected by cancer. In Mitchell Shire, more than 200 people are diagnosed with cancer each year.

But every day, there is more reason for hope than ever before. Early diagnosis and improved treatments are the result of ongoing cancer research.

Thanks to the generosity of local residents who donated their fresh daffodils, more than $2000 was raised by the Seymour group.

The Father’s Day raffle raised $5775 and the prize winners were drawn by Matthew Tennant, who donated the first prize won by Mick King.

Other winners were Jo Bell, Raenette Ellis, Michael Goh and J. Johnson.
