Already known for catering to children through her songwriting and special albums, the hardcover book marks her debut as an author.
Ever a performer, Amber will bring her amazing book to Deniliquin this week and host a special Storytime at Edward River Library in Deniliquin.
It will be held Wednesday, September 30 from 2.30pm.
It adds to her special hosting duties, with Amber also performing music at Tuesday night’s Spirit of the Muster Street Festival and Wednesday’s Spirit of the Muster event, both in the Deni CBD.
Widely recognised as a six-time Golden Guitar winner, ARIA Award nominee and one of Australia’s best-known touring country music artists, Amber has built a reputation for connecting with audiences through relatable stories and heartfelt songs.
Now she is sharing a different kind of story, aimed at inspiring young readers to follow their dreams.
The Suburban Cowgirl is based on Lawrence’s own life journey, charting her path from suburban Sydney to the heart of Australian country music in Tamworth.
The story follows a young girl named Amber who grows up in the city, surrounded by cars instead of cows and gravel instead of grass.
Despite living far from the country lifestyle she admires, she dreams of becoming a country music singer.
With the help of her friend Magpie, the young Amber embarks on an adventure to become ‘The Suburban Cowgirl’, overcoming doubts and challenging the limitations others place on her aspirations.
Along the way, the story explores themes of resilience, determination, growth and the importance of believing in yourself.
