“It was just fantastic to catch up with the people who are responsible for initiating the school, who had a vision and then had to work hard to make it happen, that's just an amazing achievement,” he said.
Mr Willett said when the school began it had only 26 students across three year levels and now, 25 years later, the school had grown immensely.
“We are from Foundation to Year 12 and next year in 2026 we will commence with about 415 students, it’s quite remarkable,” he said.
Mr Willett said it was his sixth year as principal, and he was thoroughly enjoying it.
“I really believe our school’s heading in the right direction, we’ve invested in some new infrastructure and new buildings,” he said.
“We are making sure that our curriculum offerings are such that all young people in the region can choose a school pathway and a career pathway suitable to their talents and their aspirations.”

Mr Willett said the school was also excited to be opening a new trade centre worth $4 million.
“That’ll be in full swing in 2026, so that’s been a huge addition and means that we can offer lots of VET programmes, lots of hands-on learning opportunities for our students,” he said.
The school has also recently introduced new initiatives to the curriculum, including the vocational major, a sports academy elective and a new Year 10 program called ‘Project ready’.
“That subject is designed to give young people all the life skills they need to go into the workforce or go to university, whichever they choose, so that particular course has been really well received as well,” he said.
The school said it would like to thank everybody who attended the special 25-year celebration and all those who had contributed to the school over the years.
