On Saturday, May 10, Goulburn-Murray Water became aware of a car found in the Waranga Minor Outlet Channel along Rushworth-Tatura Rd.
“G-MW staff attended the site and conducted a risk assessment to identify any potential hazards,” G-MW distribution customer service manager Brian Letcher said.
“The inspection confirmed that no hazardous substances such as fuel or oil had leaked into the waterway.”
The car was removed from the channel on instruction of local police.
“People who witness illegal dumping and littering can contact the Environment Protection Authority or Victoria Police,” Mr Letcher said.
People can report illegal dumping to the Environment Protection Authority by phoning 1300 372 842.
