A burst water main has caused flooding at a construction site on Wyndham St, opposite Victoria Park Lake, this morning.
The incident occurred around 10.15am when construction workers accidentally struck the main pipe during works in the area.
A large plume of water erupted from the damaged pipe, with part of the roadworks site flooding.
Goulburn Valley Water and contractor Mawsons are on site working to control the flow of water and repair the damaged pipe.
There is no estimated time frame for the repairs.
It has been reported that water supply at the Shepparton Art Museum and Elsewhere at SAM has been affected by the incident.
Goulburn Valley Water said it would provide further updates, if nearby properties start to lose water supply, once the incident has been brought under control.
Wyndham St remains open, with motorists continuing to move through the area without major disruptions.
