The Breen Ave dual walking and cycling track seamlessly integrates with the town’s existing path network, offering residents a safe and convenient route for walking and cycling.
Since its completion in 2024, the path has become an integral part of locals’ daily routines, providing a safe route for students heading to school and a delightful space for dog owners to exercise their furry friends.
Stretching 1.78km along Breen Ave, this vital link connects existing paths on Cooma Rd and Allan St, creating a continuous route from Kyabram’s bustling CBD to its scenic outskirts.
This project stems from the Kyabram Walking and Cycling Strategy, a community-driven initiative launched in 2004 to weave the town together through an extensive network of paths.
The project kicked off with new pathways on South Boundary Rd and Lake Rd, followed by upgrades to existing tracks, before finally extending eastward to connect with Breen Ave.
Following 11 years of eager anticipation, the Breen Ave section of the path network officially opened in September 2024 — ideal timing for locals emerging from their winter hibernation to bask in Kyabram’s picture perfect weather.
