The qualified vet and experienced breeder asks the question: “Why would you want any other breed than the most popular?”
The success of the breed over the past 30 years has been a credit to the breed society and to genetic improvement, Mr Bennett believes.
“The Angus breed has improved so well over the last 30 years, why would you choose any other breed?” he said.
“It’s been highly successful in terms of growth rates, temperament, fertility and ease of calving.”
Rowley’s Fernhill Angus stud near Corowa is one of the studs which will throw open its gates for the annual Beef Week on Wednesday, January 28.
Almost 140 cattle studs will be opening their doors for the 2026 edition of Beef Week, held across Victoria, the Riverina and the south-east of South Australia.
The eight-day event is set to run from Wednesday, January 28 to Wednesday, February 4 and is expected to showcase more than 7000 bulls representing 16 different beef breeds.
