The display, Grounded, is presented by Strathbogie Shire Council’s Artbox Gallery, and showcases the work of four accomplished local artists.
The show invites viewers to reflect on the quiet power of fungi, small plants, rocks and water, and the emotional resonance of being ‘grounded’ in place and community.
The exhibition will include the works of:
Angus Cameron: A printmaker based in Avenel who creates intricate impressions on paper that reflect the micro and macro beauty of the Strathbogie Ranges;
Simeon Ayres: An artist and mapmaker from the Strathbogie Ranges, whose style blends aerial perspectives with traditional landscape elements, and maps personal connections to Country;
Trina Carter: A Creighton’s Creek sculptor inspired deeply by the natural environment, whose sculptures explore organic forms and the textures of the land; and
Ann Cremean: A visual artist creating contemporary landscape paintings from her Melbourne studio, who draws inspiration from the Euroa region, capturing the granite outcrops, bush textures and waterways of north-east Victoria.
Ann Cremean’s Strange Country will be exhibited for viewing 24 hours a day through the gallery’s glass windows.

The artists will be present at the Artbox Gallery in Jubilee Park on Avenel Market Day: Sunday, October 12 from 10am to 1pm.
The exhibition will run from Tuesday, September 30 to Thursday, October 27, and will be available to view 24 hours each day via the glass windows.
Strathbogie Shire Mayor Claire Ewart-Kennedy welcomed the exhibition.
“Grounded is a wonderful celebration of our region’s natural beauty and artistic talent,” Cr Ewart-Kennedy said.
“It’s exhibitions like this that remind us of how deeply connected we are to our environment and to each other.
“We’re proud to support local artists and provide a space where creativity can flourish and inspire.”
Grounded promises to be a thoughtful and visually rich exhibition, and one that’s not to miss.
