Shepparton Region Reconciliation Group will host an ally-led gathering on the eve of Australia Day to honour the Day of Mourning.
The event invites community members to stand in solidarity with First Nations people and acknowledge the profound grief and loss experienced since the invasion of unceded lands.
Organisers say the gathering is a space to honour truth, memory and resilience, and to continue the path towards reconciliation.
Community members are encouraged to bring a chair or picnic rug.
All are welcome.

Shepparton: Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony
Greater Shepparton City Council will host its official Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony, recognising individuals and groups who have made significant contributions to the local community.
The event will also welcome new Australian citizens and announce the winners of the 2026 Greater Shepparton Australia Day Award.
Afternoon tea will follow the ceremony.

Mooroopna: Australia Day Celebrations and Citizenship Award
Mooroopna will host a community celebration at W.B. Ferrari Park, celebrating what’s great about Australia while reflecting on its past.
The program includes an Acknowledgment of Traditional Owners, flag-raising ceremony, formal addresses by guest speakers and elected representatives, Australian music and poetry, and the presentation of Mooroopna Citizenship Awards.
Families can also enjoy a vehicle display, live entertainment and a free sausage sizzle with drinks.

Tatura residents are invited to mark Australia Day with a community gathering at Victory Hall.
