Peter Dickins, worked diligently to build the new train and donned his train driver’s cap to guide it around the track. He originally wore the now tattered cap when the first miniature train was launched at Bangerang Park in 1973.
Corowa Apex Club officially launched its new train at the Rotary market at Bangerang Park on Sunday, March 1, replacing the old miniature steam train that broke down in 2023.

Apex Club Treasurer Greg Dickins said they were ecstatic to have a functioning train again.
“The train has been missed,” Greg said.
“Market goers have been asking where, when and why the train is missing.
“Now we can happily say the train is back.”

The new train will be easier to repair than the old steam engine and doesn’t require the same level of certified competency to operate due to its petrol-powered hydraulic-drive system.
The Apex Club would like to thank the many people without whose support the train could not have happened.
The Lions and Rotary Clubs of Corowa, the Rae Taylor Foundation, Ben Nicholson, Keith Stamp, Doug Flack, Corowa Signs, PPG Paints Albury and Corowa Upholstery all contributed to the project.
