A young man has been arrested for allegedly intentionally starting a fire at the Kyabram Salvation Army store.
Campaspe Crime Investigation Unit Sergeant Adrian Staudt said a 24-year-old Kyabram man was arrested for allegedly intentionally starting a fire at a commercial business on Thursday, May 22.
Sgt Staudt said after a short foot pursuit, police from Campaspe CIU and Kyabram arrested the man at 6.20pm on Wednesday, May 28.
The man was charged with offences related to arson, including criminal damage by fire.
He was also charged with two counts of committing an indictable offence while on bail.
Sgt Staudt said the man was further charged with two more counts of theft and attempted theft from the same business.
The man was remanded in custody and will face Bendigo Magistrates’ Court on Friday, June 6.
