The Shepparton-based company now employs 20 staff, plus casuals, across three locations, serving farmers from Kerang to Howlong, and from Berrigan to Seymour, and anywhere in between.
Advanced Ag general manager Andrew Mann said the business maintains its independence while focusing on core agronomy services.
“We are a local, independent agronomy business, focusing on your agronomy first,” Mr Mann said.
“That is what drives our business.”
Advanced Ag employs seven agronomists with a combined 100 years of agronomic experience.
The business serves a diverse client base, including broad-acre cropping farmers growing canola, wheat, barley, oats, lentils and beans.
Advanced Ag also has significant exposure in the dairy industry, providing services for pastures and corn production.
Mr Mann noted the company is probably one of the biggest corn suppliers across Victoria and southern NSW.
“It is important that farmers have access to highly trained and qualified agronomists,” Mr Mann said.
“You are trying to get the most out of your crops, get the biggest yield and sustainable production you can, as well as make every drop of rain or mega litre of water give you the best returns.””
The company focuses primarily on irrigation and high-rainfall districts, servicing the Goulburn Murray Irrigation District and extending west of Echuca from Kerang to Corowa and Howlong.
Advanced Ag is part of the National Rural Independence Group, emphasising its commitment to local communities and access to a large buying group to provide farmers with the best products at great prices.
This also provides access to one of the biggest networks of agronomists across the country to updated agronomic knowledge.
Advanced Ag supplies seeds for all types of crops and pastures, fertilisers, chemicals and inoculants, with most products stored and distributed from the main Shepparton warehouse.
Services include soil, plant and water testing, with agronomists serving as fully accredited Advisors.
“It is important to understand the nutritional requirements of the crop as well as focus on the weeds, pests and diseases to maximise the returns to farmers,” Mr Mann said.
“The company has close relationships with all major chemical manufacturers and seed companies.
“We like to support new products as we can see the benefits they can bring to our farmers in controlling weeds, pests and disease.
“We have stock in the shed ready for this autumn’s sowing and we remain a truly private and independently owned local business.”
Advanced Agricultural Products & Systems, Advanced Ag, operates from three locations: Shepparton at 72 Williams Rd, Kyabram at 276 Bolitho Rd, and Corowa at shed 1, 42-44 Poseidon Rd.
