The “you” in question is the adult actors stepping into the roles of teenagers for the Shepparton Theatre Art Group’s heartfelt and hilarious upcoming production, Seventeen.
First up on the cusp of adulthood is STAG life member Troy McKindley.
Best known as the group’s all-round “fix-it guy”, he steps away from set design and into the spotlight as Mike.
Yvette Knight, who has likewise been long active behind the scenes, makes her feature role debut as Lizzie.
STAG’s longest-serving president, Fiona Keenan, takes on Edwina, while her husband John Lewis, a former journalist for the News, plays Ronnie.
Adding further weight to the ensemble is John Head, acclaimed playwright of Dookie the Musical and Watershed, who returns to the stage as Tom.
Rounding out the cast is newcomer Helen Hinks as Sue, bringing what the group describes as “vibrant personality and joyous energy” to the role.
Celebrating 50 years of community theatre, STAG said Seventeen was more than just a play about the final days of high school — it’s a tribute to friendship, memory and the choices that shape us.
“This play is such a fitting way to close our anniversary season,” director Bella Walker said.
“It’s warm, funny, and poignant — a reminder of where we’ve come from and the people who’ve shaped our journey.”
The production opens this November at the Bakehouse Black Box Theatre.
Ticket details will be announced soon, with the company urging audiences to stay tuned.
