They’re more than just words — they’re the heartbeat of an evening set to bring Greater Shepparton together.
On Monday, March 23, Greater Shepparton City Council will host a special Cultural Diversity Week celebration at the Shepparton Library, inviting residents to honour the rich mix of cultures that shape the region.
Embracing the 2026 theme, ‘Culture connects us all’, the event will feature live cultural performances, traditional foods and guest speakers sharing their lived experiences and perspectives.
Attendees will also be encouraged to join the discussion, exploring how the community can continue to strengthen intercultural understanding, respect and belonging.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali said the week was a chance to acknowledge and celebrate the many cultures that call the region home.
“Our region is one of the most culturally diverse in Victoria, and that is something we are incredibly proud of,” he said.
“Cultural Diversity Week gives us a chance to recognise the contributions of our multicultural communities and celebrate the many traditions, languages and histories that enrich our city.
“No matter what your background, this is an opportunity to come together, share food, enjoy performances and strengthen our sense of connection as a community.”
The free event will run from 6pm to 9pm and is open to people of all cultures, ages, abilities and identities.
