The Rotary Club of Shepparton Central’s annual golf day, which was held in February, was a huge success.

The charity event brought golf enthusiasts and passionate community members together to raise money for post-graduate nursing scholarships at Goulburn Valley Health.
As a result of overwhelming support, the event raised an impressive $30,000 to fund six scholarships.
The Rotary Club handed the cheque to the GV Health Foundation last week, with event organisers Rob Kelly and Phil Squires appreciative of the support from the community.
“Our golf day success is only possible with the support of our sponsors and all the team sponsors and raffle and auction donors,” Mr Kelly said.
“We have already provided around 15 scholarships, and it was great to hear that all recipients are still working at GV Health.”

GV Health Foundation director Claire Ewart-Kennedy said the amount of money raised by the Rotary Club was extraordinary.
“We know that further education continues to support staff retention as well as improved knowledge and skill set in the healthcare space,” she said.
“We are incredibly grateful to Rob Kelly, Phil Squire and so many individuals and companies for their support and sponsorship, particularly Specsavers, Hot and Cold Shop and Quick Lift.
“It was great day raising money by the community, for the community, with the community, and the GV Health Foundation is so very grateful again to the team at Rotary Club of Shepparton Central.”
The golf day has run for 37 years, with more than $800,000 raised for various charities.
