Cobram can celebrate its newest champion with Ned Eliott winning the lawn mower racing junior 110 cc class on home soil.
Scott Reserve became a makeshift race track on Sunday with hundreds on hand to watch the astonishing Cobram Lawn Mower Racing event.
Ned drove consistently all day to win the day outright, while his sister Amber placed second outright in the C-class 200 cc.
Shepparton's Andrew Bock won A-class with his Husqvarna powered mower.
But that's where the local luck halted.
Berrigan's Gavin and Blake Barry developed engine trouble late in the day which denied them a podium finish, while Stuart Eliott (father of Amber and Ned) said he couldn't get enough traction on the grass and finished outside the podium in the A-class 450 cc.
Organisers estimated there were about 600 spectators at lunchtime, taking advantage of the Cobram-Barooga Apex Club fundraising barbecue and raffle.
The club said it would match dollar-for-dollar the amount raised and donate it to the bushfire relief fund.
