Free dinners and games in small parks across Shepparton

People in the Greater Shepparton area will be able to enjoy free dinners and games in small parks every Thursday starting this week, as part of a new initiative to bring the community together.Primary Care Connect community engagement officer Samantha Spinks said the small parks events would run from 6 pm to 7 pm, giving people a chance to meet their neighbours in local parks, promoting social inclusion.“We want people to come along and have a free feed and enjoy the last of daylight savings, making sure we're connected and using all our local spaces,” she said.“I really think our smaller parks are under-appreciated.”The Small Parks series is part of Primary Care Connect's Unlimited Choice of Activity initiative which aims to provide activities for socially isolated people.“We're really trying to break down those barriers and get everyone involved,” Ms Spinks said.Funding for the series comes from the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation. The first installment will be held at Mactier Gardens in Tatura this Thursday, 6 pm to 7 pm.For information call Primary Care Connect on 5823 3200.
