Local staff win top sofa prizes

Shepparton Plush Furniture staff were surprised and delighted to take out two top prizes at the company's Victorian state awards night this month.

After almost 10 years with the sofa company, Shepparton store manager Karen Stewart won Victorian Manager of the Year, while her second-in-charge Danielle Cassidy took out Sofa Specialist of the Year.

“It's great for our little showroom in Shepparton to be recognised,” Ms Stewart said.

“It's not often a regional showroom wins at this awards night."

Having only joined the company about 18 months ago, Ms Cassidy was excited and proud to receive her award.

“I have really enjoyed my time so far, learning everything there is to know about sofas,” she said with a laugh.

“We've been doing really well with our sales which comes into it.”

Ms Stewart and Ms Cassidy are looking forward to things ramping back up again at Plush Shepparton with Boxing Day and new year sales.
