The board held its annual general meeting on Tuesday night to discuss the goals it is working to achieve.
Chair Rebecca Woolstencroft said the hospital was aiming to continue to improve the safety and quality of GV Health’s services, as well as the health and wellbeing of communities across the region.
“A key focus of the board during the past 12 months has been the development of a new five-year strategic plan, which provides an exciting direction for GV Health in coming years to ensure we continue to deliver high-quality care to achieve improved health and wellbeing across our region,” she said.
The plan looks at enhancing the hospital's leadership capabilities, building and inspiring its workforce, providing flexible learning developments and finding solutions to the challenges the hospital is facing.
Chief executive Matt Sharp said the strategic plan put people and their families at the centre of everything GV Health did.
“GV Health has a strong connection to our community and we are continuing to partner with a range of services outside GV Health,” Mr Sharp said.
“We are also working hard to ensure people receive safe, high-quality care every time, and we will improve from the current service we provide to the community to outstanding care, treatment and outcomes.”
Several individuals and groups were recognised with awards at the meeting, including podiatrist Toby Daff and the Consumer Experience Committee (LGBTI+ inclusive training).
