They spent about 12 hours on Saturday acting in a public order role, but there were no notable medical emergencies or drug overdoses.
Shepparton police sergeant Trent Buscall said he was "very pleased" with the crowd.
“In short, there were no major incidents,” Sgt Buscall said.
“A few were ejected for drunkenness by security, not by us; they caused us no issues.
“A few were arrested for being drunk following the festival - after they'd been to other license premises so it's not something you can relate back to the festival.
“Security found no prohibited items on people including glass, knives or alcohol.”
Sgt Buscall praised festival management and security.
“All the agencies that were there worked well together,” he said.
“It was unbelievable how well managed it was.
“It was a quiet day for us but we threw quite a few resources at it, as being the first festival we weren't sure how it was going to go.
“The organisers will have no issues with police if they run every festival like the one they ran on Saturday.
“Even when people left the venue it was all well managed by the event staff. And required no real police attendance - which was good."
