It’s all happening in Merrigum

By Morgan Dyer

It might be small but big things are happening in Merrigum tomorrow as people from across the region gather for the town's open day.

Merrigum Lions Club is hosting its first ever Pink Up Your Town art show to raise much-needed funds for breast cancer nurses.

Children from across the region have been working hard to create inspiring works for the exhibition.

The gallery of works will be open for viewing at Judd Park today, with visitors having the opportunity to vote for their favourite work until noon tomorrow.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to win their very own artwork from local artist Nikia Snow.

The town will also be turning trash into treasure as dozens of residents open their homes for a monster garage sale.

If trash isn’t exactly your thing, there will be motoring treasure on show at the Car and Bike Show at Merrigum Reserve.

Alongside the shiny cars there will be kids’ activities, live entertainment and a bar.

Merrigum and District Historical and Education Society will also be open from 11am to 3pm.
