Double fatal at Wunghnu

Two people died in a two-car collision at the Goulburn Valley Hwy at Wunghnu yesterday.

Emergency services were called to the scene after receiving reports two cars had collided about 2.45pm.

Officers have been told the driver of a north bound Commodore crossed over to the wrong side of the road and collided with a south bound car.

Two passengers in the Commodore died at the scene.

They were yet to be formally identified yesterday.

A young child, who was also in the Commodore, was flown to hospital with life threatening injuries and the male driver was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The female driver of the other vehicle involved also suffered injuries and was being taken to hospital.
