The Victorian Department of Education and Training released the names of 10 new schools opening in 2020 this week, but still no decision on the Greater Shepparton College.
The current Shepparton name is interim; however, it is commonly referred to as the 'Shepparton Super School'.
According to the department, a decision will be made later this year.
"The Shepparton community will soon be invited to provide feedback on a short list of potential names for the school," a spokesperson said.
"The permanent name for the new school will be announced in Term 4."
The other schools to open in 2020 are in Ballarat, Casey, Greater Dandenong, Greater Geelong, Hume, Mitchell and Wyndham.
According to the department, a school advisory group for each school provided input into the naming process and suggestions for possible names based on factors including public interest, relevance to the local area and the consideration of local indigenous languages.
