Shepparton man caught travelling at 191km/h

Shepparton Highway Patrol officers nabbed a driver allegedly travelling at 191km/h in Shepparton about 11.50pm last night.The 20-year-old probationary driver was detected in an 80km/h zone on Goulburn Valley Highway.The Shepparton man had his holden commodore ute impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1240 and will be charged on summons with numerous traffic offences.This detection forms part of the five day high visibility road policing Operation Nexus which will continue over the Easter long weekend.The state-wide operation will focus on country road users, speed, impaired drivers, seatbelts, on and off road motorcycles, fatigue due to long distance travel and driver distraction through mobile technology and navigation devices.Priority areas include traffic corridors that link metropolitan areas to popular holiday destinations such as the Grampians, Surf Coast, Great Ocean Road, Greater Shepparton Area, Phillip Island, Bass Coast, South Gippsland, Baw Baw and La Trobe.Operation Nexus will conclude on Monday April 22.Â
