A man has been charged with the murder of a 15-year-old Aboriginal boy in Perth, who police allege died from head injuries after being bashed with a metal pole.
Police said teenager Cassius Turvey and a group of friends were approached by a 21-year-old man while walking home from school in Middle Swan on Perth's outskirts on October 13.
The man got out of a black Ford Ranger ute he was a passenger in before allegedly attacking Turvey with a metal pole.
"The 15-year-old boy and group ran towards nearby Midland TAFE where an ambulance was called," WA Police said in a statement on Monday.
"The boy received serious head injuries, and later died in hospital on Sunday, October 23."
The man from Middle Swan has been charged with murder.
He is due to appear in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on November 9.
