Ryder Roy Shaw, 20, used an alias to post two images on TikTok on December 15, 2025 that urged followers to "stand the f*** up" and riot at Cronulla Beach the following Saturday.
His inflammatory posts called for violence towards Middle Eastern people more than two decades after the beach became the epicentre of infamous race riots.
More than 100 people were arrested during the December 11, 2005 riots, which followed a circulated text message that called on "Aussies" to show people of Middle Eastern descent they weren't welcome.
Shaw echoed the rhetoric in his posts to TikTok, captioning one image with a misspelled entreaty for Australians to gather in "huge crowds" at the beach for "Middle Eastern Bashing Day".
"Spread the work! (sic) Wake up Australia," he wrote.
After sharing the images under a pseudonym, the Narara resident commented using a TikTok account in his own name which publicises he "HATE(s) Islam".
"Let's make it happen," he wrote under one of the images.
The riots did not eventuate and Shaw was arrested at his home on the NSW Central Coast on December 21.
Through his lawyer, he pleaded guilty to inciting violence towards a group on the basis of race and on the basis of religion in Gosford Local Court on Thursday.
Shaw has been in custody since his arrest and did not appear in court when his matter was mentioned.
He faces a maximum penalty of two years' imprisonment for each offence when he is sentenced in May.
Shaw's posts came a day after two gunmen opened fire on a crowd celebrating Hanukkah at Bondi Beach on the evening of December 14, killing 15 people and wounding dozens more.
When asked about the calls for riots, NSW Premier Chris Minns warned that anyone seeking to whip up racial violence or division would be investigated by police.
"There is zero tolerance for it right now," he said at the time.
