Mooroopna Rotary Club president Barbara Joyce said there was no trouble from the big crowd and everyone at the festival enjoyed themselves.
“It was a really happy atmosphere,” she said.
“The whole night went down really well.
“Everyone enjoyed themselves and walked out with smiling faces.”
Attendees — mostly families — gathered from 6pm to 11pm to enjoy the festivities, including food stalls and bubbles.
There was an explosive, colourful, 12-minute fireworks presentation above the John Gray oval at 10.45pm, which Ms Joyce said left people speechless.
“We got a lot of oohs and ahhs,” she said.
More than 20,000 tickets to win a Kia Stonic Sport were sold — a record for the club — with the winner being from Kialla.
The club has been running the festival for about 45 years.
If you would like to join Mooroopna Rotary Club and help out with next year’s festival, among other things, the group meets every Monday night at the Royal Mail Hotel.
The first meeting is on Monday, January 12.
