Shepparton children go wild for animals

More than 150 people got up close and personal with animals as part of a wildlife interaction session in Mooroopna on Thursday.

Organised by Activities in the Park and held at Family Haven Mooroopna, the session featured a broad range of native animals including sugar gliders and other marsupials, a tawny frogmouth, pythons and other reptiles.

“The kids were engaged and having fun with animals,” Into the Wild Education’s Rowena Guppy said.

“The snakes were most popular as kids don’t get to see them very often.”

The event was the first of its kinds to be held at Family Haven Mooroopna, which opened Tuesday in Young St, Mooroopna.

The Haven is a safe place for families to come and play, meet new friends and enjoy the space.
