Stand up paddle boarding comes to Victoria Park Lake

Paddling: Get out on the lake this summer.

Stand up paddle boards have arrived at Shepparton’s Victoria Park Lake just in time for summer.

Fifteen boards are available for hire at $20 each for 45 minutes.

Greater Shepparton City Council chief executive and avid canoeist Peter Harriott was pleased to see the local waterway being used in this way.

“Fortunately you don’t need any paddling experience to hire a paddle board, just the ability to swim confidently and a want to have a good time,” he said.

“Stand up paddle boarding is one of the fastest growing sports around the world and now you can enjoy working on your balance in a safe, calm environment as you explore the beauty of our local lake.”

Included in the hire is a 3.2-metre stand up paddle board, leg rope, paddle and life jacket.

Bookings are available for individuals as well as school, community and corporate groups.
