Created by Adelaide-based ceramic artist Kerryn Levy, Showcase #24: Regeneration is a central Australia-inspired creation, with a particular focus on regeneration of plant species after a controlled burn-off.
Ms Levy makes sculptural vessels similar to human, animal and botanical bodies, that when paired or grouped nestle and dance with one another.
The work explores larger and complex forms, constructing pairs of entwined figures that twist, turn and grow through and around each other.
As part of the regeneration and the colours that form on the plant life, the work includes smaller, brightly coloured pieces.
Artworks from Regeneration are available for purchase at the SAM shop.
The Craft x SAM Showcase is a curated program of exhibitions in partnership with Craft Victoria and Shepparton Art Museum.
The new showcase runs until February 5 and is free to view at the entrance of SAM.
