More than 700 people including children and their parents packed Eastbank, Shepparton, on Sunday for a special performance of The Cat in the Hat.
The Dr Seuss classic was retold in live action form, putting a greater emphasis on audience interaction.
The show's production manager Brad Thomson said the crowd was great.
“There was lots of cheering and laughing, which is always better.
“We re-do the story word for word but we had a little bit of extra mustard so it's a more enjoyable performance.
“Everyone enjoyed themselves — and that's all you can ask for.”
