But they need your help.
The Crossenvale team is hoping to partner with local services, groups and community members to form a brand new committee, ensuring future events are community-driven.
“Last year’s events were amazing, but we want next year to be even bigger,” house co-ordinator Sheridan Clark said.
“Not only will these events be great for the wider community, they’ll be an amazing way to ensure our LGBTQI community feels embraced.”
Crossenvale already has plans to hold an LGBTQI Family Inclusion Day on May 17 as part of the International Day Against Homophobia, which will include a parade from Moama to Echuca.
The team is also planning an event on May 16 to launch a new video featuring interviews with local LGBTQI people and their families about challenges they face living in a rural area.
The launch will also feature a Q and A with locals, followed by a show and dinner.
Seeking funding and sponsorship for these events will be one of the objectives of the new committee, as well as discussing which local services could be featured at the Family Inclusion Day.
“We also hope the committee will network so we can provide more exposure in neighbouring towns, as well as connecting with rural LGBTQI residents who may not be living in Echuca-Moama,” Sheridan said.
“Anyone can come get involved. We'd definitely love for LGBTQI people and their families to come join in.”
The next meeting of the committee will be at the Echuca Library on November 26 from 1pm to 2pm.
If you are interested in getting involved, call Crossenvale Community House on 5480 3583.
Crossenvale Community House will also partner with local consultant Harry McAnulty to host a regional LGBTQI inclusive practice professional development workshop on Thursday, November 28.
It will be held from 9.30am to 1pm at the Echuca Regional Health training room on Leichardt St.
Delivered by regional people for regional people, the workshop aims to work with organisations and communities to develop skills that can ensure safe and inclusive practice.
Professional development will be offered at introductory and advanced levels and can be tailored to suit individuals' needs.
In addition to hearing from Harry, who has worked with LGBTQI communities in the UK, Ireland and Australia, central Victorian presenter Dr Linda Kirkman will also share.
Dr Kirkman has a background in education and public health and has been advocating for LGBTQI inclusivity and wellbeing for more than 20 years.
The cost and booking details are yet to be confirmed, but expressions of interest can be sent to Harry at hello@harrymcanulty.com.au
