Every good love story has that initial moment when two people meet for the very first time — a locking of eyes, a smile, and then a hello.

For singers and musicians Justin Boschetti and Alannah Williams, that moment was back in 2016 at a busking event in the Shepparton Mall.
Both were in relationships at the time, but each was quietly impressed by the other’s musical talent — and from that day, a friendship began.
The two continued to cross paths, sharing music, laughter, and life’s ups and downs, until friendship slowly gave way to something deeper.
At first, it wasn’t love — it was the beginning of two artists joining forces, blending their unique gifts into an unstoppable duo that only grew stronger with time.
But that music, that friendship, that connection became something remarkable. And eventually, it did blossom into love.
Today, the pair are the talent behind JB and Me — a musical partnership that brings audiences everything from the iconic hits of the ’60s to contemporary chart-toppers of today.
Whether performing as a solo act, a duo, or with band members Bradey Curtis and Peter Formica in a full ensemble, they deliver a unique chemistry and passion that resonates with listeners of all ages.
But JB and Me aren’t just a band. They’re a love story forged in music, lockdowns and even a car accident.
“I think lockdown fast-tracked everything in life,” Alannah said.
“Whatever direction people were going in, lockdown kind of accelerated that — and for us, it brought us together.”
“We’d do little sessions on the couch, livestreams and online gigs,” Justin added.
“We’d just sit and play for people stuck in lockdown, and they loved it. Really, that’s how JB and Me started — out of COVID, and also the real beginning of us.”
During 2020 and 2021, the pair were unstoppable — building an online following across the country, performing across Victoria, and beginning to write and play their own music.
Yet fate can be unpredictable. In early 2022, on their way to perform at a wedding, everything changed.
“Someone went straight across a dog-legged intersection,” Alannah recalled.
“Both cars were completely totalled … every single piece of the other car was smashed up, except the driver’s seat, and it rolled a number of times.”
Justin reflected on the narrow escape.
“Thankfully, we had the cars that we had — with airbags in places I didn’t even know existed,” he said.
“Our bull bar really took the brunt. If it hadn’t been there, it would have been much worse.”
The aftermath tested them both emotionally.
Alannah sustained severe injuries and admitted getting back into a car was incredibly difficult — and still is.
“It took a long time, and even once I was back in the car, there were a lot of panic attacks,” she said.
“But Justin driving and being there helped me get through it.
“Initially, it was Valium and hope for the best — or Valium, alcohol and hope for the best.
“Now, I take my time, we pull over if I need to, and we allow extra time to get to gigs.”
Justin added, “It was about letting Alannah be however she needed to be and just being there together through it all.”
Together, they also faced a flood that completely destroyed their home in the same year.
To say the couple have been tested is an understatement.
But they pushed through — inspiring their kids, who love music too — and have recently moved into their newly built home, a project that brought its own challenges as well.
Right now, they’re writing and performing their own music and back to gigging full-time, hand-in-hand, smiles never far away.
It’s rare for a couple to work, live and perform together, but for Justin and Alannah, it’s completely natural.
“Reflecting on it all — all the things we’ve been through — it’s a lot,” Alannah said.
“But there was so much good that came from the stuff that wasn’t great, and it’s definitely made us stronger.”
“People ask me if we ever get sick of each other because we’re always together, but we really don’t,” Justin said.
“I think it’s because we love the same things — like music and singing.
“When a couple has shared interests, that’s a really positive thing. It has been for us.”
From a chance meeting to car crash survival, from lockdown sessions to love, JB and Me’s journey has been anything but ordinary.
But today, their music carries those stories — heartfelt, resilient and real — to every stage they play.
And now, with their own songs taking centre stage, their story is still unfolding — and the best is yet to come.
