Felix wanted to apply for school captain after reflecting on his friendship with previous leadership cohorts.

“I've had good relationships with the previous school captains and seeing what they did for the school community made me want to apply for any of the prefect positions,” Felix said.

School community and connection are at the top of Felix’s mind as he steps into his new role.

“Bringing the school community a bit closer together is my goal because there is that distinction of year levels,” he said.

“I want to host activities throughout the year to sort of mix the year levels together and unite the school community a bit more as well.”

Post-graduation life is well-planned for Felix.

“Hopefully I’ll do medicine at Monash University next year or go into medicine via the rural pathway that Melbourne University offer,” he said.

Outside of school, Felix works part-time at an optometrist and enjoys soccer and badminton.

Every Sunday, Felix dedicates his time to his church, where he volunteers.

Denise McCarthy

Previous school captains inspired Denise to apply when her time came.

“I wanted to apply because of the influence of other school captains and prefects,” she said.

“I got to see what they did in past years and it always looked fun.”

In her role, Denise aims to foster a stronger sense of community and connection across the entire school.

“I want to intermingle the year levels a little bit more and create a bit more unity amongst the year levels in the school,” she said.

Next year, Denise plans to pursue a career in law and commerce, building on her leadership skills and academic achievements.

Outside of studying, Denise enjoys her job at a local library and can often be found playing netball and spending time with family.
