What a fabulous, busy weekend we had in April for The Shepparton and District Horse and Pony Club.

The rally welcomed four ‘Come ’N’ Try’ riders. It was a cosy day, due to reduced numbers, with Shepparton members heading to Boneo where the Horseland 2026 Interschool Championships were hosted.
Other members were also away to compete at the Mansfield Pony Club 2026 Horse Trials.
April’s rally consisted of a flat work exercise session in our games arena followed by poles/jumps in our showjumping arena, co-ordinated by the talented and knowledgeable event rider and coach Ashlee Slavich.
Finishing with everyone gathering in the clubhouse for a quick equine trivia quiz in front of the fire and a bite to eat.
The visiting Come ’N’ Try riders were a refreshing reminder that joining pony club allows a child to experience the joy of riding, learn essential skills and make lifelong friends while participating in fun activities and establishing the confidence to attend events and competitions.
Members attending the state competitions over the weekend rode beautifully, coming home with awesome results and experiences.
The members are always doing their club proud; presenting professionally, displaying encouraging and supportive behaviour towards fellow Shepparton members and competitors from around Victoria and showing respect for the officials, judges and volunteers running the events they visit.
I am so proud of each and every one of our members and give a massive shout out to the parents and families that make it possible.
The pony club membership year begins on July 1 and anyone is welcome to contact the Shepparton and District Horse and Pony Club and come along for a Come ’N’ Try session.
• Come ’N’ Try includes a temporary, insured membership, allowing a rider to attend two pony club rallies and experience what a club has to offer before committing to an annual club membership.
