On Tuesday, July 8, the Bulldog Charity came together with GV Hospice for their annual cheque handover and to pass on their gratitude.
Members mingled with hospice staff as everyone gathered to celebrate their shared achievements.
“It’s fantastic, and it allows us to do what we do,” GV Hospice chief executive officer Wendy Ross said.
“We do get some funding, but it’s not enough to provide the 24-hour, seven-days-a-week service that we have, so we do rely on the support of groups like Skeeta.
“They’re a great bunch of guys, and we look forward every year to catching up with them.”
Made up of like-minded members who share a love of motorbikes and the great outdoors, the group's roots trace back to the Bulldog Motorcycle Wreckers in Shepparton, where the Bulldog Charity was first brought to life in 2013.
Every member has had a personal connection to cancer, whether through their own experience or that of loved ones.
To show their heartfelt appreciation for the services GV Hospice provides, the group embarks on an annual weekend of fundraising activities in Wonnangatta National Park, tackling bush tracks and dirt roads for a good cause.

“We all know what hospice does,” Bulldog Charity president Robert ‘The King’ Palma said.
“So we adopted it so that we’d give the money to hospice.”
This year, the group raised $15,577, almost double what they expected.
With their combined efforts, the Bulldog Charity has raised over $65,000 over the span of 12 years.
“That’s what we do, that’s how we bond. We all lean on each other through the hard times,” Mr Palma said.
