Arriving in January 2025, Margherita has been living with the La Gamba family in Mooroopna while attending Greater Shepparton Secondary College.
Her host brother, Joseph La Gamba, stepped up as her partner for the traditional dance celebration.
“In Italy, we don’t have deb balls, so when I heard about it, I was really excited,” Margherita said.
“I am glad that I had the opportunity to do it because the exchange program usually starts later in the year.
“It was a magical night and a true Australian experience.”
Her host parents, Vince and Sally, also joined the celebration, participating in the special person dance.
“Learning the routine was so much fun with Vince,” she said.
Margherita said preparing for the evening, from planning her hairstyle to wearing her gown, was an unforgettable experience.
“I enjoyed every minute, and it’s a memory I’ll carry in my heart for ever.”
Margherita will continue her Australian journey until September when she returns to Italy.
