A public meeting has been called for Thursday, November 13, to discuss the ABC and more specifically ‘Friends of the ABC’.
The meeting, to be held at the Marungi St GV Library, will see short addresses from and questions answered by ABC Friends Victoria president Pam Creed, and the ABC Friend Groups convenor for Victoria Anne-Maree Newbold.
ABC Friends Victoria vice-president Michael Henry, who was to attend, but no longer can, said: “This will be an opportunity for you to discuss the future of the ABC and what ABC Friends might do in Shepparton.”
The idea for an ABC Friends Group in Shepparton, or the wider Goulburn Valley, follows a recent webinar focused on setting up a group in Echuca, but which morphed into a discussion about doing something in Shepparton.
Bendigo hosts an ABC Friends Group, as do Ballarat and Geelong, but beyond those centres, people eager to support the ABC would need to travel to Melbourne.
