On March 20, 1971, the couple walked down the aisle at St Mel's, and five decades on, the pair are happily living at Congupna.
Sandra said "sticking together" through thick and thin was what made the couple work, a sentiment Kevin echoed.
“There's no secret. We have our ups and downs like everyone else and get on with it,” he said.
In those 50 years they've travelled the country to bottle shows, with Kevin being ensnared by the hobby of bottle collecting after a mate showed him his collection, as well as travelling up the red centre in 2010 and having three "beautiful" children, Graham, Rebecca and Natalie.
They've also added four grandchildren in that time, including a newborn.
The couple met at Victoria Park Lake in Shepparton, in a story they still poke fun at each other over.
“I was down at the lake doing firefighting training running along with a carton and the hoses together,” Kevin said.
“We'd done our run-through and the bloke was happy with us and these two chicks come walking past, I liked one of them and we got them to stay around and here she is today.”
Sandra laughs in response.
“I had legs back then. I didn't have a boyfriend at the time, and he looked alright,” she said.
“I thought he was a fireman but he was only training.”
Ahead of the anniversary, the pair said they'd celebrate the day, on Saturday, March 20, at the Dookie pub.
