The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is an Australian Government program that covers the cost of basic dental services for eligible children. So who's eligible?
To qualify, your child must be aged 0 to 17 for at least one day of the calendar year, and either they or a parent, carer or guardian must be receiving a payment from Services Australia at least once that year. Eligible payments include Family Tax Benefit Part A, Parenting Payment, and a range of other Centrelink payments.
Covered services include check-ups, cleans, X-rays, fillings, extractions and more. The CDBS does not cover orthodontic or cosmetic dental work, or services provided in hospital.
